Carshalton FC meet "Pretty" Ricky Boylan

Ricky Boylan came down to Beddington Park for a meet and greet session with the boys before their game.

He brought along his two professional boxing belts -

Light Welterweight International Masters Bronze Belt

Light Welterweight Southern Area Tittle!

Please support Ricky at his next fight on Saturday 5th April at York Hall as he headlines along side John Ryder and the Prizefighters.

A Quick Update!

Just a few bits to catch up on from last time!

The last update I done was for the Merton game where we lost for the first time in 7 games!

Could we regain our winning ways instantly, we met Old Coulsdon Colts. We had a late kick off at 2PM which left some players from both sides unable to make it but the game still went ahead.

We had a good game on our hands as the game finished 3-3, we made some sloppy mistakes this game and we paid for it! We dropped the extra 2 points which would of been handy for the end of the season.

Next up we played Nutfield a team I have been waiting to play all year, the first time we played them it went down as a walkover for numerous reasons but it was time to play them, it was a nice day in Beddington Park, the pitch looked fantastic! The game didn't go our way at all, we just couldn't make our mark on the game although we was all over them, we missed to many chances on goal which any other day we would of capitalized on. The game finished 3-4 to Nutfield with them scoring within the last minute of the game.

Our next game we played top of the league St Helier who are flying high in the league, they just came out of a loss in the semi final of the cup so they are looking for a big win agaisnt us! But Carshalton FC denied them, we had a sloppy start once again and it just seems that we always struggle to start the game ready and awake. The game finished 3-1 to St Helier and the boys played fantastic!

I have got to mention that Connor Romo made two fantastic penalty saves in one game!

Goal Scorers -

Gideon Eluwa

Jamie Hare

Man of the match - Gideon Eluwa

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a quick mention to Daniel Perren who took the side over for this game!

This game was if anything a learning curve for us as the first time we played Merton we lost 9-0 and to reduce the score to 6 and then score 2! We even took the lead just before half time with an excellent run from Gideon and a sublime finish.

We conceded some silly goals that we shouldn't off but we never stopped fighting! Jamie Hare managed to get his first goal of the season with a tap in after Peter Maddock managed to wriggle around a few players.

Callum Foley (ST) Charlie Chapman (ST)

Subs -

Jack Cox
Matthew Cole
Thomas Maddock
Gerard Bryne
Hamzah Iqbal
Jamie Hare
Saan Gharaman

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

This result really doesn't reflect on how the game actually went, we out played Queens Park in every aspect of the game but we couldn't finish to save our life today! The game should of ended at least 5-1 minimum but it just wasn't to be. We done what we needed to do and that was get the massive 3 points.

Our kick off was delayed by an hour I would say due to an injury to a player in the game before ours so we had to wait for the Ambulance to arrive.

By this time all the boys were cold and freezing cold but was eager to play, we got into the changing rooms to do the starting eleven and off we set to the pitch.

We got off to a flying start by netting ourself a early goal within the first 10 minutes or so via a corner kick, only for James Eccles getting the final touch to get it in to the back of the net. Afterwards we had a few chances that had been ruled offside but weather they was or not is a different question, nevertheless we went into half time with the lead.

I made a couple of changes -

Connor Romo (GK)

Jack Cox (RB) Otton Ziminicki (CB) Eric Chaiyaphanto (CB) Oscar Williams (LB)

Peter Maddock (CM)

Gerard Bryne (CM) Gideon Eluwa (C) (CM) Jamie Hare (CM)

Callum Foley (ST) Saan Gharaman (ST)

Also Oscar Williams made way for Thomas Maddock, Otton Ziminicki was replaced by Matt Cole and finally Hamzah Iqbal was replaced by Peter Maddock.

Our second goal came with some superb passing and movement from the boys, from what I can remember the play involved Gideon Eluwa, Callum Foley, Gerard Bryne and Thomas Maddock. Callum Foley got the goal in the end and a cracking finish it was.

We did concede one goal which I thought was offside and the linesmen gave it but the referee gave the goal!

First Game Back After Christmas - Mickleham Marvels 1 - 1 Carshalton FC - League Game

Those are the two social networks that we have.

Mickleham Marvels 1 - 1 Carshalton FC

Starting Line-UP -

Connor Romo - (GK)

Jack Cox - (RB) Otton Zimnicki - (CB) Eric Chaiyaphanto - (CB) Thomas Maddock - (LB)

Peter Maddock - (CDM)

Gideon Eluwa - (CM) Gerard Bryne - (C) (CM) Hamzah Iqbal (CM)

Charlie Chapman (ST) Saan Gharaman (ST)

SUBS -

Oscar Williams
Niall Reilly
James Turner
James Eccless

The boys was clearly rusty when it came to playing, after not playing for over a month over the Christmas Break effected us quite early on. But I think we found our feet quicker than the home side. Carshalton had been on a 4 match winning streak and we wanted to carry on with streak.

We had the disadvantage from the start as we had to go up hill on a frosty hard pitch, the boys put in a great shift the whole half with Hamzah coming close with the keeper making a save. We got it to half time with a score draw and we had everything in our hands.

I made two subs, Niall Reilly came on for Charlie Chapman and James Turner came on for Jack Cox.

Connor Romo - (GK)

James Turner - (RB) Otton Zimnicki - (CB) Eric Chaiyaphanto - (CB) Thomas Maddock - (LB)

Peter Maddock - (CDM)

Gideon Eluwa - (CM) Gerard Bryne - (C) (CM) Niall Reilly (CM)

Hamzah Iqbal (ST) Saan Gharaman (ST)

We came out fighting, if there was statistics for possession it had to be 70 - 30 we out played Mickleham with ease but we just couldn't get that finishing product.

Hamzah, Saan and Gideon all came close with Hamzah clipping the post. It just wasn't our day specially when Mickleham had their first chance on goal from a counter and they managed to get the goal and I had to admit it was a great finish.

The boys did not stop playing as they knew they deserved the goal, Gideon shot across goal with the keeper making the save. Niall took the corner only for it to come back to him, he went for a shoot/cross (he says it was a shot so I've got to take his word for it) it ended up in the back of the net as the keeper made a meal of it. The boys had the momentum back again but we didn't have enough time to grab that winner.

The game finished 1 - 1 and for myself (Jon) it was my first draw in my life, it took me five years to get a draw and I must admit I didn't like it especially when we should of won.

Carshalton FC - Christmas Break Is Upon Us

Firstly I would like to welcome you all to this blog page, where along with Facebook & Twitter you shall be getting updates but with more information.

Those are the two social networks.

I shall give you a quick run down of how the first 12 games went for the newly formed Carshalton FC Under 15 team. We headed off to your first ever away game as a team to a strong Merton Youth side who had previously came from the Premier division last year. After quickly learning within the first 5 minutes of how much of a change this will be from Little League we was 1-0 down with Connor Romo with a suspected Broken Shin, which resulted to the classic Sunday League football and putting the tallest defender in goal. Without beating around the bush the final score was 9-0 and we took away with us a big learning curve.

So moving onto our second game and we was away once again this time round we played Stoneleigh Athletic Bravo, with a fairly early kick off at 10am. We wasn't very impressed with the referee before the game as he was pitch side getting his last fag in before had to "run" for 40 minutes in the centre circle! Besides all that we couldn't get our first goal, we pressured and pressured so much it left out defence vulnerable as some fatal errors led to some silly goals. We did manage to score 1 through a penalty kick after Hamzah was tripped inside the box, only for Peter Maddock to take and what a penalty it was, two keepers wouldn't of saved it! The game finished 6-1 to Stoneleigh and we went home with a frown upon are faces.

29th September 2013 the boys finally made a mark with a emphatic 5-2 win over Nork Park Rangers Athletic, we played our first game at home and we got the win. Although we did go down 0-2 we clawed back and got it back to 2-2 for only to knock in another 3 goals with ease as Nork Park's confidence had completely gone.

Can Carshalton make it back to back wins? Yes they can this time round we play Nork Park Rangers Colts who are considered to be the better side out of the two Nork Park sides in our league. This game had it ups and it downs. At half time we was winning 4-1 with Gideon Eluwa running rings around his opponents but this only led to Nork Park getting very frustrated and very early on led to some well lets say "dirty" challenges on Gideon only to see Gideon react and receive a red card. Carshalton FC had 30 minutes to hold onto the 4-1 lead with only ten men. This wasn't something they seemed keen on but nevertheless they did defend superb and held to win 4-3. A very tense game but it shows the boys have some fight in them!

Moving onto the Cup game and this was against Nork Park Youth this side was in the Premier League and if I am honest we didn't stand a chance and I won't make excuses about lack of players but we did lose 17-0, a game we will put behind us and let's just say "we was concentrating on the league"

After a rather embarrassing cup defeat I think the morale was down and it showed when we played Mickleham Marvels, a team we really should be beating but it wasn't to be. They beat us at home 5-1 which left myself speechless at the end and I wasn't sure if the boys wanted to play or had any heart left.

The next game went down as a "walkover" as we didn't have enough players to field, which worried me did the boys want to play for me? But we did play a friendly and from what I saw I do think this is a team we should be able to beat when they come over to our ground.

We play top of the league St Helier and if the game ended at half time we would of been extremely happy! Half time was 1-1 and we very much deserved this score we played our hearts out but perhaps we played to strong in the first half and not leaving enough energy for the second half. You could see who the fitter team was on the day as St Helier came out flying and knocking in a further 9 goals to make it 1-10!

03rd November 2013 was were we made our mark once again! After a agonizing 4 weeks of losses we got back on track we a great win again against Nork Park Rangers Athletic. We welcomed two new players to the squad for this game, Callum Foley (Striker) and Eric Chaiyaphanto (Centre Back) and it made a difference as Callum Foley knocked in 2 goals and Eric Chaiyaphanto made some incredible tackles at the back along with some great challenges in the air. We went onto win the game 4-2 and kick started our season once again!

This time round we play Stoneleigh Athletic Bravo a team who has beat us before 6-1 early on in the season. Carshalton want revenge and revenge is what we got! After going down 2-0 which we didn't deserve at all, half time came and I said what I wanted to say and I suppose it worked as we thought back and had a fantastic come back to win 3-2! Gideon Eluwa scored a great freekick to kick start the come back which made it 3-1, substitute Charlie Chapman is always in the right place at the right time to score a tap in to grab the equaliser only for club captain Gerard Bryne to score from a corner. A great win easily the best of my career.

We finally get to meet Queens Park Gunners who are sitting bottom of the league the boys were confident about getting the 3 points and that's exactly what they done. They won 5-0 but it should of been 10-0 we wasn't finishing our chances but we will take a win how ever it comes!

Our latest game was against Nork Park Rangers Athletic, we played them before and won 5-2 and this time round we won 3-0 a good game to watch but once again we should of been more prolific in front of goal. We needed these goals to gain our goal difference back but if I am honest the referee was terrible after playing 5 minutes less than he should have first half, counting 9 steps instead of 9 yards, giving fouls when they clearly wasn't. The game was very stop and start as he blew up for the slightest of touches. Nonetheless we got the win again to put us on 18 points.

That was how our first 12 games panned out very up and down as you can see but a learning curve for everyone, specially myself and I hope to carry on learning and brining this team forward.

Thank you
